Xiaomi is working on under-display camera technology with a resolution of more than 20 megapixels
Reportedly GizmoChina, Xiaomi is testing a new under-display camera with remarkable resolution that will be paired with an FHD+ display made by Huaxing Optoelectronics. Earlier, it launched the Xiaomi Mix 4 as its first smartphone with a 20-megapixel under-display camera.
However, future devices with new under-display camera technology will have a much denser pixel count with a resolution greater than 20 megapixels. The increased resolution is further compounded by the improvements that will be made to the resolution of selfies.
Under-display cameras have really come a long way; But their quality is still not comparable with ordinary selfie cameras. Xiaomi plans to reduce the quality difference between the two mentioned cameras with its new technologies. Details about future devices equipped with this technology are not yet available; But we expect to see more information released soon.

Xiaomi’s under-display camera technology uses a new pixel arrangement with a special circuit designed to hide more components under RGB sub-pixels; so that it improves the transmission of light and provides more acceptable results. Mix 5 with the Snapdragon 8th generation chip has started its trial production. While more detailed details about the said phone are not yet available, it is expected that this phone will also come with an under-display selfie camera like its predecessor. Also, there is a possibility that its sensor will have a resolution of more than 20 megapixels.
