In the SellCell Institute survey that was conducted between March 3-10, 2021 (March 13-20, 2019), more than five thousand American users aged 18 and older who had experienced a variety of smartphones, were surveyed. The results of this survey show that iPhone users are more loyal to Apple and compared to Android users, they are less willing to change their smartphone brand.

According to SellCell, the level of brand loyalty Apple from 90.5% (in the survey of the same period last year) to 92% in the latest survey, which is currently the highest level of loyalty to this American brand in the entire history of this company. Only 8.1 percent of iPhone users who participated in this survey reported their intention to migrate to another brand. Also, 26% of Samsung phone users said that they will go for another brand in their next smartphone purchase. It is interesting to know that 53% of Samsungs who were planning to change their brand stated that their next phone will be iPhone.

Of course, it’s not just Samsung that has lost its loyalists. According to the SellCell survey, the level of loyalty of users of Google brands (Pixel phones ), LG and Motorola has also decreased. For example, the decrease in loyalty to Pixel phones over the last two years is said to be 18.8%.

When iPhone users were asked about the reason for staying loyal to the Apple brand, 45% of them stated that they simply love the Apple brand as their reason. 21% attributed this to over-dependence on Apple’s ecosystem, 10% believed that switching from iOS to Android was troublesome, and 8% stated that they prefer to work with what they know. 16% also said that they see no reason to migrate from iPhone to Android phones.

On the contrary, those iPhone users who were planning to buy an Android phone, the main reasons for their decision are the better technology of Android phones such as display, camera, battery, etc. (38 percent) and also interest to the design of other producers (26.4 percent). 12.9 percent also believed that the latest model of other brands has more features compared to the latest iPhone model.

Among unsatisfied iPhone owners, about half of people (46 percent) wanted to buy Samsung phones, and a third (35 percent) planned to buy from Samsung in the future. Use Pixel phones.
