Samsung’s new patents reveal the attractive design of rolling phones

According to reports, Samsung Patent has registered 10 new designs for foldable phones. These designs include smartphones with rotatable, rollable, and sliding displays. The new patent filings actually show Samsung’s vision for the future of foldable phones. Now the number of patents of this company for foldable phones has reached 20.

According to DigitalTrends, the Korean tech giant is currently dominating the foldable phone market with its Fold and Flip series. Samsung’s new patents show that the company is serious about the future of foldable products. The brand is likely to have plans for a new foldable phone soon, and in May it showed off a prototype of a phone with a rotating display, raising expectations for a new foldable phone. While the filing of a patent certificate does not always mean the introduction of an actual product, it does provide a glimpse of what can be expected in the future.

There are several important points about Samsung’s new patents. One of these patent certificates (pictured above) shows a device with the dimensions of a standard smartphone. However, this model expands from the end so that the device has the dimensions of a small tablet. This feature is the same as the general idea of phones like Z Fold 4, but it achieves this goal with a different design.

Another new Samsung patent (pictured above) shows a smartphone with a rollable display from the back. In this design, the back part is divided into two parts, which are connected in the middle by a rollable screen. It seems that this plan can create new concerns about the durability of folding products, and it remains to be seen how Samsung will resolve them in its final product.

  • Galaxy Z Flip 3 after being folded 418,503 times broke its previous record
  • The sales market of folding phones has experienced a 57% growth in the first quarter of 2022
  • SamMobile website also recently conceptual design K has shared a Samsung smartphone with a rollable display (pictured above). In this image, the phone uses a screen that extends around its back panel. There is a thick strip on the right edge of the display, which seems to be the location of the device’s rear camera module. It is assumed that the screen extends horizontally on this product, and an example of such a design is already available from the brand TCL We have also seen.

Samsung has not yet provided details about its upcoming foldable smartphones and it will probably take some time for the company to officially talk about these products. We are expected to see the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 phones later this year, but we are probably a long way from the introduction of a phone with a sliding display.
