Apple is making it easier than ever to transfer an electronic SIM card (eSIM) to a new iPhone in iOS 16, which will be widely available this fall. Someone on Twitter noticed that iOS 16 users can do this using Bluetooth.

According to what Verge writes, if you currently use an electronic SIM card, you must contact the telecommunication operator in order to reissue the electronic SIM card in case of a new iPhone. A number of operators simplify this process by using a QR code in their mobile applications, but in relation to the rest of the operators, the user must visit some stores.

At first glance, it seems that Apple is trying to simplify the process of transferring an electronic SIM card to new phones with the new iOS 16 changes, however McRommers writes that transferring an electronic SIM card to a new iPhone is possible only when the operator Officially support this feature.

  • iOS 16 introduced with new features for iPhone 8 and later
  • Developer Mode feature in iOS 16; Will Apple finally make it possible to sideload apps on the iPhone?

Considering that iOS 16 is currently in developer beta, it probably won’t be for now. Support is not provided by operators. Until the final version of iOS 16 is available, we will not know which operators and which countries support the new feature of this operating system.

Apple announced during the WWDC 2022 conference that iOS 16 enables the personalization of the lock screen and brings new features to applications such as iMessage. EMGblog’s close-up look at the iOS developer beta is now available on the site’s home page.
