Introduction of iQOO U5 – mid-range 5G Vivo with Snapdragon 695 processor and 50 megapixel camera

News unit EMGblog.com: iQOO subsidiary of Vivo which a few days ago from Neo5S and Neo 5SE Unveiled Now it has unveiled a new phone called the iQOO U5, which is placed in the low-end or, at the most optimistic, mid-range. U5 should be considered an updated version of iQOO U3x which will be released in March 2021. It was launched with the same screen size and the same battery as the U5. Of course, this phone has a chipset Snapdragon 480 5G chip, which is now replaced by a more advanced chipset called Snapdragon 695 5G data. U5 has also seen a significant improvement in the resolution of the main camera, which will play an important role in improving the position of this model.

U5 in terms of design with the new shape of the rear cameras (which are now located below each other instead of diagonally) and the horizontal iQOO logo below this The part is separated from the U3x. Another subtle difference between this phone and the U3x belongs to the flattening of the side edges of the back cover, which in combination with the smooth and non-protruding peripheral strip has given this model a form similar to the new iPhone phones. U5 is available in three colors, black, blue and white, and apparently the last two colors are a combination and change state by moving in the light.

U5 screen size compared to U3x hasn’t changed, so it will be interesting to compare the dimensions of these two devices; U5 has a length and width of 164 and 75.84 mm, respectively, which has not changed significantly compared to the length and width of 164.15 and 75.35 mm of the U3x. Although the thickness of the U5 appears to be greater due to the non-curved edges of the back cover, it has actually decreased from 8.4 to 8.25 mm. The weight of this model is 185 grams, which is almost no different from the U3x.

The screen of the phone is apparently the same 6.58-inch LCD as the previous one, which has a resolution of 1080×2408 pixels and covers 90.61% of the device. The contrast of this panel is still 1,500:1, but its refresh rate has undergone a big change, from 90 to 120 Hz. The touch speed in this panel is also 240 times per second, which is not available in all modes. Above the screen, in a relatively large drop notch that clearly shows the user category of the device, an 8-megapixel selfie camera can be seen, which now has a wider aperture and f/1.8.

On the back of the phone and the main cameras we face a bigger change where unlike U3x had only a 13-megapixel camera and a depth-of-field sensor in this part, in iQOO U5 we get a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is still no information about the type of sensor used in the main 50 megapixel camera of this phone, but this camera not only has a much higher resolution than before, but its lens aperture is also completely open and has an aperture of f/1.8 instead of f/2.2, which On paper, it provides much more light to the camera sensor. The maximum video resolution of this camera is 1080p. The second camera of this series is a 2 megapixel macro (for taking photos from a very close distance) that does not have autofocus and its lens aperture is f/2.4. In this model, the fingerprint sensor is located on the power button on the side of the phone, and apart from that, the selfie camera can also be used to recognize the face and unlock.

Processing in iQOO U5 with newly introduced chipset Snapdragon 695 5G, compared to Snapragon 690 5G apart from better lithography (6 vs. 8 nm) than Dual cores Cortex-A78 with a frequency of 2.2 GHz in an advanced cluster and 6 cores of 1.8 GHz A55 used for low-level processing. Adreno 619 graphics of this processor compared to Adreno 619L present in Snapdragon 690, according to Qualcomm, has been improved by 30%, which is considered a big change at this level. U5 is thus compared to U3x with a completely inferior chipset Snapdragon 480 5G has received a big processing and graphics improvement. The phone’s RAM memory is 4, 6 or 8 GB and it has 128 GB of UFS 2.2 internal memory that can be upgraded (up to another 256 GB).

The device’s battery capacity is still 5,000 mAh, which the manufacturer says will last for nearly 25 hours of listening. Enough for music and 15.5 hours of video viewing. The charger that comes with this model is the same 18-watt charger as before, which according to Vivo, takes 70% of the battery capacity. It charges in 68 minutes.

Independent and non-independent 5G with a maximum nominal download speed of 2.5Gbps on both SIM cards, dual-band Wi-Fi version 5, Bluetooth 5.1 and a 3.5 mm headset jack are some of the communication options of this phone and apparently NFC is not supported in it.

iQOO U5 with OS Android 12 and the OriginOS user interface have been released to the Chinese market since January 1 (11 December 1400) and the prices of its different versions are as follows:

4GB/128GB version at 1,299 yuan (at the current exchange rate of about 204 USD)
