Introducing V20 SE – Vivo’s new mid-range, for selfie lovers

News unit : Company Vivo on September 22, 2020 (October 1, 2019) from the first V20 series smartphone named Vivo V20 Pro unveiled. Now, we learned that this Chinese company two days later, on Thursday, September 24 (October 3), another phone of this series named V20 SE has been introduced. It was the first time that Apple used the suffix SE – apparently shortened to Special Edition – in its products. But following Apple, other brands also produced phones with the SE extension, among which we can mention LG G5 SE and Oppo Reno4 SE. Usually, the SE versions are lower than the standard version in terms of specifications. In the following, we will learn more about the specifications and features of Vivo V20 SE.

Vivo’s new phone It has dimensions equal to 7.83 x 74.08 x 161 mm and weighs 171 grams. Light weight, low thickness, 3D curves of the body and high-quality polymer used in its construction apparently convey a good feeling to the user, to the extent that the manufacturer compared it to “holding a cloud”! V20 SE It is produced in black (Gravity Black) and blue (Oxygen Blue) colors. The manufacturer considers the black color of this product to be inspired by the blackness of deep space, as if it was pulled down by some kind of gravity.

The 6.44-inch display of the phone is AMOLED and its resolution is Full HD+ (equivalent to 1080 x 2400 pixels). There is no more information about this display, except that there is a water drop notch on top and a fingerprint sensor is placed below it.

The rectangular camera module on the back of the device hosts 3 cameras stacked vertically. The main camera of the device has a resolution of 48 megapixels and is equipped with automatic focus. According to the manufacturer, thanks to the f/1.8 aperture, the Super Night software mode, as well as the HDR+ algorithm (a product of Morpho), this camera can take acceptable photos in low-light environments. The next camera is an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) ultra-wide camera with autofocus and a 120-degree field of view. Of course, taking into account the distortion of the edges of the image and removing them, the output of this camera will be 108 degree photos. It is interesting that this camera also plays the role of a macro camera and the user can approach the subject up to a distance of 2.5 cm. The third member of this collection is a 2-megapixel (f2.4) depth camera, which, unlike the previous two cameras, has a fixed focus.

The ability to record 4K video is one of the features of the V20 SE camera in the field of videography. Also, according to Vivo, due to the presence of electronic stabilization or EIS, the shake of videos recorded with this camera is greatly reduced – even when moving. Needless to say, the front camera of this phone – which is located in the notch above the screen – is 32 megapixels and the lens aperture is f/2.0. Vivo emphasizes the capabilities of the front camera of this product, which We will continue to discuss some of them.

Like the main camera, the Super Night feature is also available for the selfie camera. Also, like most selfie cameras, beautification effects can be applied to the face. Another feature planned for the selfie camera of this phone is a mode called Selfie Softlight Band, which, according to the manufacturer, is a special tool that can provide studio-standard lighting for selfies at night. According to Vivo’s claim, in this mode, the ambient light inside and outside is automatically adjusted and no matter how dark the environment is, the final selfie will be acceptable. Not to mention, Professional Portrait and Multi-Style Portrait modes are also intended to improve portrait photography. Of course, this camera does not have autofocus.

The battery capacity of V20 SE is equal to 4,100 mAh. Thanks to the 33W fast charging technology – which, according to Vivo, is now 50% faster – the battery can be charged from zero to 62% within 30 minutes. It takes less than an hour to fully charge the battery. Vivo’s new smartphone does not use fifth generation communication and is considered a 4G phone. Bluetooth 5, USB-C port, OTG capability and support for GPS, Beidou, Galileo and GLONASS navigation systems are also among the other communication features of this device.

According to Vivo, the two microphones in this phone can remove noise from the surrounding environment with noise cancellation algorithm and artificial intelligence algorithm. One of the interesting features of the V20 SE is the so-called Whisper Mode. Suppose you are in an environment such as a library or a business meeting and you cannot speak loudly. In such situations, Whisper Mode acts like an amplifier and makes your voice loud and clear to the person on the other end of the line. The operating system of the phone is Android 10 and the Funtouch OS 11 skin is drawn on it. This skin has interesting features, one of the most important of which is Ultra Game Mode. This mode, by blocking notifications and messages, as well as features such as Off-Screen Autoplay and picture-in-picture mode, can create a good gaming experience for the user.

Currently, the smartphone Vivo V20 SE is intended for the Malaysian market, but its arrival in other markets is not far off. This product is priced at 1,199 Malaysian Ringgit, which is roughly equivalent to 287 US dollars at the current exchange rate. The exact date of the V20 SE’s entry into the Malaysian market will be announced soon.
