He adds: “Thanks to the Exynos W920, wearables of the future will be able to run applications with [visually] attractive user interfaces and a more active user experience, and will keep you connected with high-speed LTE.”

Chipset Exynos 920 consists of two Cortex-A55 cores and its graphics processing is handled by Mali-G68. Samsung claims that compared to the Exynos W9110, the CPU performance in this new chip has been improved by 20% and the graphics power has increased by 10 times. According to Samsung, thanks to these upgraded cores, the speed of running applications on the Exynos W920 is increased, and the 3D graphical user interface in devices equipped with this chip – which can have QHD displays (with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels) – will be more attractive and interactive. Was.

Always-On-Display feature is very useful for wearable devices (especially smart watches), because with its help, the user can know the time by just looking at the screen. Get notified of notifications, missed calls, etc. without turning on the screen. The management of the “always-on display” in this new chip is entrusted to the exclusive Cortex-M55 co-processor, which can reduce the energy consumption of the display.

Samsung in the introduction of Exynos W920 pointed out that despite the improvements made in the specifications and features, this chip has the smallest packaging in the world thanks to the FO-PLP technology. It has special chips for wearables. Using the mentioned technology, Samsung has integrated Exynos W920 chip, power management IC (PMIC), RAM memory (LPDDR4 type) and internal memory (eMMC type) in a small package together.

Exynos W920 with 4G LTE Cat. 4 modem provides the possibility of connecting the wearable device to the fourth generation network and with the support of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) it can be used during outdoor sports activities, in addition to On the location, speed, distance traveled and height of the user from the sea level.
