Introducing Redmi 10C – cheap with Snapdragon 680 4G chipset
On the back of Redmi 10C, instead of plastic with a shiny appearance, a textured plastic frame is used, which is designed in black, blue and green colors. This product uses a large screen with a diameter of 6.71 inches. The resolution of this LCD display is still unknown, but it is likely that we will see HD+ resolution (equivalent to 1500 x 720 pixels) in this device.
Chipset Snapdragon 680 has taken the processing helm of this phone. This 6 nm chip consists of 4 2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 cores and 4 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 cores, and its graphics processing is Adreno 610. 4 GB of RAM memory (LPDDR4x type) is available to the user and in terms of internal memory, the company has produced Redmi 10C in two configurations of 64 and 128 GB (expandable with microSD).
On the back of the device, a relatively large square module can be seen. The interesting thing about this module is the placement of the fingerprint sensor. Of course, this type of design has already been used in some Narzo smartphones – including narzo 50A – used, but this is the first time we see such a style in one of the Redmi devices. The Redmi 10C camera module hosts a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth camera and an LED flash. A 5-megapixel selfie camera can also be seen in the waterdrop notch above the display.
A powerful battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh powers the Redmi 10C. This battery is sold with a 10-watt charger, and due to the low power of the charger, it takes hours to fully charge. Now that we are in 2022 and phones with charger power above 100W are slowly becoming a common thing, the existence of a 10W charger (even in the category of cheap devices) seems a bit outdated.
In terms of software, the operating system of the device Android 11 is a bit old and considered one of the weaknesses of Redmi 10C. Of course, this is not surprising, because the series Redmi Note 11 has also entered the market with the same version of Android. Also, the exclusive MIUI 13 skin, by adding some features and changing the appearance, makes the Android face of this phone different. Needless to say, although there is no information available about the communication of this phone yet, due to the capabilities of the Snapdragon 680 chip, Redmi 10C can be considered a 4G phone.
Xiaomi has declined to provide fuller specifications of the phone, but pictures of the Redmi 10C pricing have been released via some Nigerian retailers – including online store Slot.ng. The base model of this device (with 4GB/64GB configuration) is priced at 78,000 Nigerian Naira, which is roughly equivalent to 190 US dollars at the current exchange rate. The higher-end model (4GB/128GB configuration) is also priced at 87,000 Naira ($210).
The surprising thing is that the images and even some specifications of Redmi 10C (such as chipset and screen size) are different in the images published by Slot.ng website. Therefore, to fully ensure the exact specifications of this product, you should wait for the official Xiaomi website to introduce it. In the end, it should be mentioned, Xiaomi is going to release a smartphone named Redmi 10 will be unveiled in India, which according to some analysis, will probably be the rebranded Redmi 10C.
