Introducing Honor X40i – Honor’s beautiful mid-range for the Chinese

News unit EMGblog.com: At the end of October last year, Honor from a mid-range phone Honor X30i unveiled. This Chinese company unveiled the updated version of this phone called Honor X40i on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 (22 July 1401). Of course, you should not expect a significant improvement in the specifications of this new phone, because some of the specifications of the Honor X40i (including screen size, internal memory, selfie camera, battery capacity, fifth generation communication, etc.) are shared with the previous model and Some things (such as the chipset) have even regressed compared to the X30i. In the following, we will review more details of Honor X40i features and features together. jpg”/>

Honor X40i smartphone looks beautiful and eye-catching, so Honor Design considers it the most imaginative design in the X series. This phone is produced in black, green, silver and a special pink color called Rose Galaxy. This color – which you have rarely seen in other devices – as its name suggests, evokes the appearance of a galaxy. It should be noted that Honor X40i is designed in dimensions of 7.43 x 74.5 x 162.9 mm and weighs 175 grams. Therefore, we are facing a thin and light product.

The 6.7-inch display of this phone consists of an LCD panel (LTPS type) and its resolution is FHD+ (equivalent to 1080 x 2388 pixels). The aspect ratio of the screen is 19.9:9 and it covers 93.6% of the surface of the body. In this way, we are faced with a full-screen display, except for the bottom part, the thickness of its edges is only 1.1 mm. The manufacturing company has placed a lot of emphasis on the display’s color capabilities and while referring to the JNCD index (which is less than 1 for this display), it has also mentioned a type of technology known as page-to-page color temperature calibration. The refresh rate of this panel has decreased from 90 Hz last year and reached 60 Hz.

Unlike the Honor X30i – which uses a 6nm chip Dimensity 810 was equipped with – Honor in making the Honor X40i from a weaker chipset Dimensity 700. This processor – made with 7nm lithography – includes 2 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and 6 2 GHz cores Cortex-A55 and Mali-G57 are responsible for its graphic processing. Depending on the model, 8 or 12 GB of RAM is assigned to this phone. According to Honor, in the 8 GB model, up to 5 GB can be added to the RAM memory virtually. 128 or 256 GB of internal memory is also available to the user, which apparently cannot be upgraded.

A pill-shaped module on the back of the device houses two cameras (compare with three on the Honor X30i). The main camera is 50 megapixels and is placed behind a lens whose aperture is f/1.8. This camera has a digital zoom of up to 10 times easily and can shoot videos in 1080p resolution. Night mode, HDR, portrait mode, photography with open aperture, professional mode, time-lapse photography, panorama, watermark, smile detection, micro video and simultaneous video recording with rear and front cameras are among the other features of this camera.

A depth camera 2MP resolution and f/2.4 aperture help the main camera. It is noteworthy that the lenses of each of these two cameras are placed in rings that overlap each other and create a shape similar to the Latin number 8. Needless to say, an 8-megapixel (f/2.0) selfie camera is also installed in the hole inside the display, which, in addition to recording 1080p video, also has the ability to recognize 2D faces.

A relatively large battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh has been prepared for Honor X40i . This battery is not different from the Honor X30i battery in terms of capacity, but the positive thing is that the power of its charger has increased from 22.5 watts to 40 watts. According to the manufacturer’s claim, 5 minutes of charging (starting from 3%) will provide the energy needed to watch online video for 2 hours. The fingerprint sensor of the phone is placed on its edge, and in addition, the possibility of unlocking through facial recognition is also available. Needless to say, the speaker of the device also supports the so-called Honor Histen sound.

Phone operating system Android 12 and its internal menu is developed based on the exclusive user interface Magic UI 6.1. Honor X40i is a dual SIM phone with 5G connectivity. Other communication options of this phone include Bluetooth 5.1, headphone jack, USB-C port and Beidou, GPS and GLONASS routers.

The Honor X40i smartphone will officially enter the Chinese market from July 22 (July 31). This device is produced in two configurations. Its base model – with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage – is priced at 1,599 Chinese Yuan, which is roughly equivalent to 236 US dollars at the current exchange rate, while the price of the 8GB/256GB model is 1,799 Yuan ($266). And the higher-end model – with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage – is also priced at 1,999 yuan ($295). The supply status of this product outside of China is not yet known.
