Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business group, announced during the event on December 23 that more than 220 million users are currently using HarmonyOS on their smart devices. According to the CEO of Huawei, this statistic has made HarmonyOS the fastest growing operating system in the world. Reaching 220 million users in itself is an impressive statistic for HarmonyOS; But Huawei says it’s aiming to exceed those numbers for next year. Currently, HarmonyOS is only available to users of the Chinese market; But Huawei will probably release its proprietary operating system globally in 2022; Of course, the Chinese haven’t talked about their plans yet.

HarmonyOS was introduced on June 2, 2021 (12 June 1400) with a different user experience and design for smartphones. Functions such as App Snippets and Control Panel for easy control of devices and smart home appliances from the phone are among the key features of Harmony. It will update its devices in the smartphone, tablet and smart TV categories to HarmonyOS operating system. The list of these devices includes old products such as Huawei Mate 9 and P10.
