Huawei has filed a patent for a unique phone with a rollable display
This patent has been registered with the State Intellectual Property Office of China under the title “Flexible Screen Support Mechanism and Rotatable Electronic Equipment” and number CN114439843A. The document describes a patent for an electronic device that incorporates flexible display technology and is supported by a unit below the display. According to the document’s explanation, Huawei’s patent has a simple structure that takes up little space and can be used in portable devices.
Notably, in the structure seen in a drawing of this patent, the unit that supports the device’s display also includes a rotating part. This part has a rotating shaft mechanism, both sides of which are covered by a protective frame. Although, it is not clear whether the rotation process is automatic or manual; Also, the support mechanism has various bracing structures that make it possible to fold the screen.
Currently, it is unclear if this patent is actually for a smartphone; Of course, it is quite possible that this display will be used in a portable device with a mid-range chip and a normal capacity of storage memory and RAM. Keep in mind that this is still just a patent and we have no way of confirming if the Chinese tech giant is actually working on such a product.
