HP unveils Z-class workstations with the ability to update

No matter what specs your computer system has, the latest HP workstations are probably more powerful than that. The latest Z series workstations from HP, named Z4, Z6 and Z8, with high power and upgradeability, are waiting to enter the market.

  • Dell unveiled new precision workstations and laptops
  • HP unveiled the new Omen gaming computer series

The high-end model of this series, named Z8, has 24 RAM ports with support for up to 3 TB of RAM memory, support for two Zeon processors (with max. 56 cores), two ports to connect storage memories SSD has an M2 type and two Nvidia Quadro Pro graphics cards. The Z8 is specifically aimed at the VFX user market. By providing HP Z series workstations, these users can simultaneously create 3D simulations along with editing 8K to do. Another feature of this product is support for 10 USB 3.1 generation two type C ports. The Z8 has two Gig-E ports, seven full PCIe ports, and a custom Thunderbolt 3 port. All these features are placed in a chassis with 1700 watts of power and a separate duct.

Buying the Z8 box without parts will cost about 2,439 dollars; But if you want to use two Xeon Platinum processors 8180M Intel, with 28 cores and 56 threads each, Along with two Quadro P6000 graphics cards with 24 GB memory, all these products will cost around 35 thousand dollars. Compared to the Z840 model (the flagship of the previous generation), this model supports more cores, graphics cards, PCIe bandwidth and memory size. In the table below, you can see the complete specifications of the Z8 workstation:

HP Z6 Workstation, priced at $1,919, supports up to 384GB of RAM. The number of ports has been reduced in this model; But it still supports two Zeon processors. Workstation Z4 with a price of 1239 dollars has the ability to install up to 256 GB of RAM and use a Zeon processor, which is limited to the W series of Intel’s Zeon processors. The best processor of this series is the Zeon W2155 model with 10 cores and 20 threads, and HP has not said anything about supporting the 18-core Zeon W processor that will enter the market at the end of this year.

worth mentioning This price is only for empty boxes that do not have any graphics card, memory or processor installed on them. In the case of the Z4 model, the best processor that can be installed is the 10-core W-series processor with a price of one thousand dollars. Therefore, this workstation can be purchased with accessories at a price of 3000-4000 dollars.

HP Z6 and Z8 workstations will be available in October; But the Z4 box will be presented in November. At the end of this year, new HP products will help professional film and VFX users to purchase these products according to their budget. Considering the price of Z8 and Z6, it is unlikely that non-professional buyers and users of workstations and normal systems will purchase these products.
