Dimensity 1050 was introduced; The first MediaTek chip with support for both versions of the 5G network
MediaTek yesterday introduced a new processor for smartphones called MediaTek Dimensity 1050. Dimensity 1050 is the first MediaTek processor that supports both types of 5G networks, i.e. mmWave network and sub-6GHz network. Apart from this issue, we can call the new Mediatek processor a weaker version of Dimensity 1100.
According to XDA Developers The Dimensity 1050 processor, produced on the basis of 6nm lithography, is equipped with an eight-core CPU unit, including two powerful Arm Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.5 GHz. MediaTek’s press release doesn’t mention the chip’s low-power cores, but we assume the low-power cores are Arm Cortex-A55.
The graphics unit is the new Mediatek Arm Mali-G610 chip. HyperEngine 5.0 offers more features and optimizations to improve gaming performance.
