Research Institute Sensor Tower in a new report says that the amount of acceptance of applications around the world and the money spent by users in the form of in-app purchases did not experience any significant change in the first quarter of this year compared to the first quarter of 2021.

Statistics show that navigation applications after Medical applications have grown the most and their use has increased by 23.5% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021. Travel related applications are ranked third. In the previous two quarters, applications from the business sector experienced the greatest growth.

Sensor Tower says that the increase in the use of router applications in the first quarter of 2022 is likely due to the easing of restrictions caused by the Corona virus and the increase in travel among people, and on the other hand, the increase in the number of monthly users of medical applications has also been attributed to the Corona virus.

According to statistics, the money spent by users in the form of in-app purchases and App subscriptions were unchanged in the first quarter of 2022 and only increased by 0.6% compared to the first quarter of 2021 to reach $32.5 billion. The money spent on Apple’s App Store is more than twice that of Google’s Play Store, from $20.6 billion in the first quarter of 2021 to $21.8 billion in the first quarter of 2022.

The money spent by Play Store users were approximately 10.7 billion dollars. In the first quarter of 2021, users of this store spent approximately 8.5% more money in the form of in-app purchases ($11.7 billion).

TikTok (known as Douyin in China ) has maintained its position as the most profitable application. In the first quarter of 2022, Tik Tok users spent a total of $821 million on the App Store and Play Store. In the Play Store, Tik Tok is ranked second after Google One. Google One has brought in approximately $250 million in revenue for Google over the period in question.

According to Sensor Tower, the “first download” in the App Store and Play Store grew by 1.1% annually. And it has reached 36.8 billion downloads. Both platforms have experienced roughly similar growth, but Google’s store share is still much higher. The number of first App Store downloads reaches 8.5 billion and the number of first Play Store downloads reaches 28.3 billion.

The revenue from mobile games in the App Store and Play Store has decreased and reached 21 billion dollars. Also, the revenue of mobile games in the Apple store has been announced with a 2.3% drop of 12.9 billion dollars and in the Google store with a 13.8% drop of 8.1 billion dollars.

Three of the top grossing games on mobile platforms are developed by Chinese companies. The global download of mobile games in the first quarter of 2022 faced a growth of 2.1% and reached 14.4 billion.
