Microsoft’s Surface Go 2 in 3DMark with Intel Core M and Pentium Gold processors

Microsoft’s Surface Go 2 has been spotted in 3DMark, confirming earlier rumors about this tablet. This device will probably be released this season and Microsoft will equip it with Intel Core m3 8100Y and Pentium Gold 4425Y processors. 3DMark doesn’t confirm if there will be an LTE option.

As we approach Microsoft’s much-anticipated spring hardware event, the Surface Go 2 has made an appearance once again. While it is likely that Microsoft will cancel the physical presentation, the possibility of holding a live stream of an event or even a silent launch like what Apple this week with iPad Pro and MacBook Air is available.

Again _rogmae witnessed another thing and of course this is not the first time that Surface Go 2 appears in this popular benchmark. However, the new information confirms last month’s rumors.

As expected, the Surface Go 2 will ship with at least Core m3 8100Y and Pentium Gold 4425Y processors. According to 3DMark, both come with 8 GB of RAM, but there is also a possibility of a 4 GB version.

A new device with an old processor

_rogame also reported that both models use the SSDs that Microsoft used in the Surface Pro 7 and Surface Pro 7. rface Pro X is embedded. With all these words, the fact that Microsoft is launching a new device with old processors cannot be ignored. Time Spy score of both models:

Core m3 8100Y

  • Processor score: 1380 (127 percent)
  • Score Graphics: 303 (104 percent)

Pentium Gold 4425Y

  • Processor score: 1089 (100 percent)
  • Graphics score: 292 (100 percent)

The original Surface Go was pretty poor by today’s standards. The Pentium Gold 4425Y processor is clocked just 100 MHz higher than the Pentium Gold 4415Y used in the Surface Go.

In short, we hope Microsoft has more in store for the Surface Go 2. While the Core m3 8100Y can improve performance over the Pentium Gold 4415Y, this is not the case for the Pentium Gold 4425Y. Anyway, Microsoft’s Surface Go 2 has been seen in 3DMark, which means that its introduction is not far away.
