Microsoft’s patent shows a device with a 360-degree tilting display
Every day the competition to make better and more functional folding devices is getting tougher. Today, various companies have changed the way we think about foldable phones with the Surface Duo and Galaxy Z series. Now Microsoft plans to outdo its competitors by designing a new device with a reverse folding display. The mentioned company has registered a patent that uses a reverse folding screen in its design, and this issue provides the possibility of using it with one hand.
According to Android Headlines, a new Microsoft patent depicts a smartphone whose display can folded in reverse to 360 degrees. After folding, the device can be used as a single screen. Not creating a gap between the pages is the main advantage of this design.
Currently, Microsoft’s Surface Duo uses a similar design. The mentioned device can be folded in different modes and can be used even in single-page mode; But the screens of Surface Duo are such that after folding, there is a gap between them, and this may cause dissatisfaction of some users.
In the patent description, Microsoft says that the said smartphone can be folded from 0 to 360 degrees. This issue can be a big problem for the manufacturing company; Because producing a device with a glass screen that can be folded up to 360 degrees is not an easy task; But maybe LG can help Microsoft.

At this year’s Display Week, LG unveiled an 8.03-inch foldable screen that could be folded from 0 to 360 degrees. This is exactly the option Microsoft needs.
LG’s new display technology uses UTG (ultra-thin glass) and has a resolution of 2480 x 2200. In addition, anti-fingerprint materials have been used in it to give a nice and clean look to the device. The said display has 430 nits of brightness and its full coverage of the color space exceeds 9.9% of DCI-P3. Also, its manufacturer claims that its new product is resistant to 200,000 times of bending.
According to the latest rumors, Microsoft has no plans to release the Surface Duo 3 this year. Instead, it prefers to release software updates for the Surface Duo and Duo 2. Also, some sources speculate that the company may change the design of its next generation Surface Duo; So, maybe this device will come with a reverse folding screen in the future.
